Passion for Social Work-By Adil Ishaaq

When Economic Inequality takes birth in a society, the pure socialism should be brought in as a remedy. Global Warming and Global Economic Inequality are on alarming mark. Just like the ‘ Global Warming’ the ‘Global Economic Inequality’ will also flow down the weaker sections of the global society in its flow, if the Gini Coefficient even more increased from the current mark. Just to protect the Weaker sections from the exploitation by the Upper and capitalist class of people due to economic inequality, many Govts at global level have started the concept of socialism like European countries. India too has indulged herself into the basic fundamental principles of socialism. In India many ruled govts so far have started many projects under the concept of socialism, many schemes have been implemented to end the economic inequality in the society so that the weaker sections can be uplifted. Even many constitutional amendments have been made to protect and help the Weaker sections like reservation for backward classes and economical weaker sections. Many NGOs are working in India under the proper recognition.

Apart from government doings in account of socialism, many young spirits of the country have pushed themselves in this great cause of Social Work. For the people who work for the social welfare of the society, this is not only the way to earn livelihood for them but to involve themselves in finding a solution to overcome the miseries due to economic inequality and to serve humanity.

In the same context if we talk about Kashmir, Youths have passion for social work. They have passion to work for humanity. Due to long going conflict in the state, Youths are grown in such a circumstance where the social work has become the priority activity of the youths. Many Social working groups/organisation are operative in each corner of Kashmir with a resembling motive of helping mankind. Some organisations have greater coverage area and are operating from Srinagar city like ELFA, HELP FOUNDATION, SHE HELP, AASH (The hope of Kashmir), Global Youth Foundation, etc.

While some are operating at constituency level and district level and have lesser area to cover. But the main motive of every organisation is to serve humanity and cover what remain uncovered by the government. Majority of the serving class in these groups is the youth of Kashmir. So i may not be wrong in saying that Youths are the true asset of a society, if they move in a positive direction. We should keep on funding these groups in any term we can because, we can’t reach out individually at every required corner or downtrodden soul. Serving humanity should be the priority activity of every human being in this capitalist ideological society.
